I spent lunch with heads of Corporate Social Responsibility, Public Affairs and Marketing departments from several large national coporationss as we got together to discuss our strategic plan for an advisory council (for a large educational non profit) we sit on.
I do not know the answer. But i hope we can all work together at some point in the future.
The thing that has struck me though today is while the two groups would probably struggle to find common ground in the same room, the parallels are profound. Both groups desperately want to make a difference. Both groups sacrifice time, talent and resources. Both groups often are villified due to a lack understanding.
